Cross-departmental workshop composed of students, postdocs, and faculty with shared interest in basic principles and emerging discoveries in genomic instability, DNA replication, recombination and repair. The goals of the meetings and this wiki:
* Establish a challenging and interactive cross-departmental focus group that will advance understanding of our individual projects and encourage collaborations.
*Provide students and postdocs with training and interactions with faculty interested in the R3 Topics


==Time, Location & Logistics==
Want to join? All are invited! 
The meetings are held in MRB 634, typically on the first and last Tuesdays of the month at 9AM. This way, nearly every week will have "DNA Tuesday". For those of you who are new, the second Tuesday is when the Fanconi anemia program project team meets, and the third Tuesday is reserved for the DNA repair videoconference for the [http://tango01.cit.nih.gov/sig/home.taf?_function=main&SIGInfo_SIGID=32 DNA Repair Interest Group at NIH]. NIH videoconference is held in the CROET 2nd floor conference room (BSAC 2501M).


Details: Begins at 9:00 AM sharp. '''Speakers please arrive by 8:45 for set up.'''  To allow time for extensive discussion plan to speak for a total of 40 min. Meeting ends officially at 10:00 AM but many participants typically stay longer for lively discussion. Send your slides to Maureen after you present so they can be posted on this site.

March 28th: Alex Sobeck (BMB, Hoatlin Lab) will cover highlights of a newly-recognized component of the BLM helicase complex called BLAP75. BLM is a member of the recQ family of 3'-5' DNA helicases, which includes five human homologues (RECQL, BLM, WRN, RECQ4, and RECQ5). Loss-of-function mutations in BLM, WRN, and RECQ4 give rise to Bloom's syndrome (BS), Werner's syndrome (WS), and Rothmund-Thomson syndrome (RTS)....all are cancer susceptibility disorders.
