OpenWetWare:Donations

We are taking steps to enable OpenWetWare to accept donations from individuals and companies in the future. These donations would be made via MIT and be used to support operating costs associated with running OpenWetWare.

The information below is to help in the account setup process. It is a work in progress.

Overview

OpenWetWare is an effort to promote the sharing of information, know-how, and wisdom among researchers and groups who are working in biology & biological engineering. OWW provides a place for labs, individuals, and groups to organize their own information and collaborate with others easily and efficiently. In the process, we hope that OWW will not only lead to greater collaboration between member groups, but also provide a useful information portal to our colleagues, and ultimately the rest of the world.

Sponsorship

We are soliciting monetary and in-kind donations from individuals and businesses to support OpenWetWare. These funds are critical to OpenWetWare’s continuing success. Donations will be applied toward OpenWetWare operating expenses including but not limited to:

1. Administrative costs
2. Community development (user meetings and conferences)
3. Other?

In donating to OpenWetWare, you will:

1. foster a community dedicated to the open sharing of information in biology and biological engineering.
2. contribute to the growth of an invaluable online information resource including educational materials, research protocols and documentation of ongoing research.
3. be acknowledged on the OpenWetWare:Support page as a sponsor. (Logo/font size will scale linearly with the size of the donation).
