You can access your user page when you are logged in by clicking on your username in the top right of any OpenWetWare page. You may want to open it now in a new window so that you can follow along as we set up your page. Once you are at your user page click on the '''edit''' tab. (If nothing has been added to your page you will be brought directly to the edit screen).

==Filling out your page==
* Start with a second-level heading (<tt><nowiki>==</nowiki></tt>).
It's easy to put content on your pages. You simply type it in under the appropriate section, hitting '''Enter''' twice to create a new paragraph.
* Use subsequent levels (''second'', ''third'', then ''fourth'' levels).
* Table of Contents automatic with 4+ subsections.
* If appropriate, place subsections in an order (i.e. alphabetical, numerical, etc).

We only add this section as a means to demonstrate links. You can link to another page on OpenWetWare by including the page name in double brackets. For example a link to the Protocols page would be written as: <nowiki>[[Protocols]]</nowiki> giving: [[Protocols]]

A link to an external website is made by including the web address followed by the link title in single brackets: <nowiki>[http://www.pubmed.gov pubmed]</nowiki> gives: [http://www.pubmed.gov pubmed].

Click on '''Save page''' and you are done. If you are working on large edits you may want to save the page periodically since all unsaved work will be lost if the browser window is closed.

Starting Your User Page

Perhaps your user page is the most comfortable place for you to start editing. A brief description of who you are and what you are doing will help others feel comfortable with your edits and may even lead to productive collaborations.

Click on your username to edit

To access your user page, log in, then click on your username at the top right of any OpenWetWare page. Then, click on the tab. If nothing has been added to your page you will be brought directly to the edit screen.
