Launch of Open Science seminar series
John Wilbanks will launch the OpenWetWare seminar series on Open Science this Friday by making a visit to MIT and speaking on open research and the growing movement to create a “research commons” of freely usable tools, papers and data. John is Executive Director of Science Commons, a project of the non profit corporation Creative Commons. More information is available here
The new seminar series will range in topics from open publishing and standards to how open practices affected the development of other fields such as the IT industry. "We hope to bring awareness to the scientific community about problems that hinder the development and scope of scientific progress" said OpenWetWare's Sri Kosuri.
