  • Austin Che 12:36, 9 September 2007 (EDT): The svg conversion to png on the wiki is not a complete conversion. Specifically it ignores markers which are used to denote line end arrows so this doesn't quite look correct. The thing in the upper left corner should be on the end of all the lines on the top. But this file should be understood correctly by any svg program. So if anyone wants to edit this, any reasonable svg program should be able to handle this (I used inkscape).
    • Reshma 16:18, 9 September 2007 (EDT): I like the concept and information behind this figure, but it needs to be prettier :)
    • Austin Che 17:51, 9 September 2007 (EDT): That's why I uploaded the source svg file instead of a png so someone with a prettiness sense can prettify it.
    • Ricardo Vidal 19:55, 9 September 2007 (EDT): How about using a table/text version that can be searched and easily edited? See below:

<html> <style> table.colortable tr {

 text-align:center;
 font-family:trebuchet ms;

} table.colortable tr.odd td { background-color:#ECECFF } table.colortable tr.even td { background-color:#DFDFFF } table.colortable tr.even th, table.colortable tr.even td.arrow { background-color:#EEEEEE } table.colortable tr.odd th, table.colortable tr.odd td.arrow { background-color:#F5F5F5 } table.colortable tr.odd td.other { background-color: #ECECFF } table.colortable tr.even td.other { background-color: #DFDFFF } </style> </html>

  • Austin Che 20:18, 9 September 2007 (EDT): I like this. Maybe we can include directly the HTML links into it.
    • Ricardo Vidal 21:12, 9 September 2007 (EDT): I agree. Would you like me to do so and make the change?
      • Reshma 22:07, 9 September 2007 (EDT): I made some changes to the table. I deleted the Lab management row because I didn't think it was that relevant. I also changed some of "traditional" entries to actual examples.
      • Austin Che 22:19, 9 September 2007 (EDT): Maybe lab management isn't the right word, but there's scientific communication in telling other people what your lab does, and I see that as being a part of the purpose of OWW.
        • Reshma 22:55, 9 September 2007 (EDT): Perhaps you're right. We could try a row called Lab sites.
      • Ricardo Vidal 22:44, 9 September 2007 (EDT): Great work Reshma. Looks better the other way around. I think the links should be added to bring context to the terms
        • Reshma 22:54, 9 September 2007 (EDT): Feel free to add the links. I am just not sure if PLoS will support links in "images" or not which is why I was trying to design the table such that they weren't required.
