A collaborative effort between the Payne, Dickson, Fahrni, and Kemp groups is aimed at understanding the cellular transport of thioredoxin in living cells. Melissa and Christine are happy to announce that Saheli Sarkar, from Case Western Reserve University, will be joining the Kemp and Payne groups in Spring 2011 to use fluorescence microscopy to study thioredoxin localization and transport.

NIH Director's New Innovator Award

In 2009, Christine was awarded an NIH Director's New Innovator Award. This award provides $1.5M to the lab over a 5 year period. This award was established by the NIH "to support exceptionally creative new investigators who propose highly innovative projects that have the potential for unusually high impact."
