K-12 Outreach
Katelyn Snider
Summer, 2010 - Katelyn Snider, a student at Roswell High School, assisted Chip Humphries with his LDL degradation experiments. Among the tasks Katelyn completed, she labeled LDL with fluorescent dyes, recorded fluorescence spectra and used fluorescent substrates to demonstrate drug-induced inhibition of enzymatic activity in cultured cells. She is pictured with Chip.
Luella High School
April 1, 2010 - Students from Luella High School toured the Payne Lab, Lyon Lab, and Marcus Nanotechnology Building. They also participated in demonstrations led by the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS).
Carver Early College High School
March 17, 2010 - Mr. Qasim Rehman and students from Carver Early College High School visited Georgia Tech. The visit included tours of the Brown Lab, Payne Lab, and France Lab.
Roswell High School
