Payne Lab Book Club

Each summer the Payne Lab votes on a book to read. Books are considered from many fields including Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, and Biology. During our weekly group meeting two to three chapters of the book are discussed.

In previous years, we have read:
2012: "Methods in Modern Biophysics" by Bengt Nolting.
2011: "Live Cell Imaging: A Laboratory Manual, 2nd edition" by Goldman, Swedlow and Spector.
2010: "Physical Biology of the Cell" by Phillips, Kondev, and Theriot
2009: "Handbook of Biological Confocal Microscopy" edited by Pawley
2008: "Principles of Fluorescence Spectroscopy" by Lakowicz
2007 (Summer): "Single-Molecule Techniques: A Laboratory Manual" by Selvin and Ha
2007 (Spring): " Building Scientific Apparatus, 3rd edition" by Moore, Davis and Coplan

Colloid & Soft Matter Bag Lunch

Colloid and Soft Matter researchers from Georgia Tech and Emory meet once a month on Tuesday, 12:15 - 1:45 p.m., in MS&E 3201A.

Physical Chemistry Divisional Seminars

Physical chemistry divisional seminars are held on Tuesday's, 4pm, MS&E 3201A.

Atlanta Area Chemical Physics Seminar Series

The Atlanta Area Chemical Physics (AACP) Seminar Series is coordinated jointly between Georgia Tech and Emory University. The purpose of this seminar series is to learn about exciting developments in chemical physics while fostering interactions between chemists at both universities.
