Congrats to Max, again! Max just applied for and won a second UMass Commonwealth Honors scholarship! Soon he'll be able to fund the lab himself! Congrats Max! --Shelly Peyton 22:02, 30 October 2012 (EDT) Peyton lab earns first NSF support The Peyton lab has just been notified that we have won a PESO award for the work that Lauren is leading on tissue tropism in breast cancer. Our collaborator (Nicholas Reich, Biostatistics, UMass) and we will put this money to good use to find novel mechanisms to stop the dangerous spread of breast cancer to the brain, bone, and lung. Though we are sad to see some amazing students leave the Peyton lab, it also means that spots are freed up to welcome the next best and brightest! Join me in welcoming several new undergraduates to the Peyton lab: Aidan Gilchrist, Marianne Sleimann, Isaac Han, and Elyse Hartnet. The Peyton lab sends out its first graduates: Erinn Dandley, Prateek Katti, and Tyler Vlass out into the world with a heavy heart. They have all been such amazing members of the lab, and we are very sad to see them go. This is a competitive award, and we are happy to have him! --Shelly Peyton 10:26, 9 February 2012 (EST) Funding from UMass MRSEC The Peyton lab was just awarded a Seed award from the UMass MRSEC to study how cells are able to sense mechanical properties across multiple length scales.
