Purpose

To learn the basics of using an oscilloscope and measure the fall time of the RC circuit used in AC coupling.

Fall time measurement

I neglected to record the amplitude when I was collecting data making it impossible to calculate the fall time as far as I could tell from information gleaned from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rise_time.

I did collect a measurement of 51.8ms using the oscilloscopes measure function on a low frequency square wave.

What did I learn

I learned that recording everything in my notebook is important because I may need information that does not seem relevant at the time. Also I better understand the importance of coming into the lab prepared so i spend less time studying the procedure and more time actually working with the equipment.
