* It is thought that formic acid in acetonitrile causes polymerization and contribute to plugging of tips and the HPLC.  One can prevent this by making fresh ACN/formic acid mixes weekly, or just use straight ACN (no formic acid).  The water and formic acid is OK.   • It is thought that formic acid in acetonitrile causes polymerization and contribute to plugging of tips and the HPLC. One can prevent this by making fresh ACN/formic acid mixes weekly, or just use straight ACN (no formic acid). The water and formic acid is OK. [Reference to the ABRF discussion on this??]
