| The medium will be prepared in 60 l batches. The medium is prepared according to Ian Probert's K/2(-Tris-Si) recipe. Seawater is collected at point B in the bay of Villefranche, filtered on a 10 µm filter and stored in 60 l tanks. Solutions are prepared in Antoine Sciandra's lab and stored in the fridge there. The 20 l Nalgene tanks are rinsed with tap water, distilled water and finally MilliQ water. The seawater is filtered on a 0.2 µm filter and transfered to the Nalgene tanks. Then the different solutions, except the vitamin solution, are added to the filtered seawater.

| This is the recipe for 40 l. The alternative solutions mentioned are solutions which are already present in Antoine Sciandra's lab.
