A histone modification governs androgen receptor to bind to regulatory regions of a class of cell cycle genes in castration-resistant prostate cancer but not in androgen-dependent prostate cancer. This leads to over-expression of cell cycle genes and accelerated growth of castration resistant prostate cancer.
