We are a lab interested in transmembrane proteins and receptors. Our research centers around the following questions:  
We are interested in membrane proteins and receptors because they are one of the frontiers in protein research and because they are often drug targets that are closely associated with diseases. Our research centers around the following questions:  


*How do membrane receptors transmit signals across the cell membrane?
*How do membrane receptors transmit signals across the cell membrane?
*How can we modulate the transmission of these signals to combat diseases?
*How do certain function or malfunction of membrane receptors lead to diseases? How are these functions regulated by intracellular and extracellular signals?
*How can we modulate membrane receptors to combat diseases?


We focus on membrane receptors that are involved in cardiovascular and immune diseases.  We take a multidisciplinary approach, using a wide array of techniques in molecular biology, structural biology, cell biology, and bioengineering.
