Research Assistant II - posted 7/29/09

A Research Assistant II is required to support the research of Dr. Rebecca Riggins, Assistant Professor of Oncology and a member of the Breast Cancer Program of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will perform laboratory bench work utilizing cellular, biochemical, histologic, and microscopy procedures in support of breast cancer research. S/he should also be very organized, able to maintain outstanding laboratory notebooks and written/electronic records, interpret data, and enjoy working in a collaborative academic environment that includes frequent interactions with interns and undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.

Minimum requirements for the position are a Bachelors degree in Cell/Molecular Biology or related field that included advanced laboratory coursework. Additional laboratory experience gained through research internships, independent study, Masters degree study, etc. is strongly preferred.
