Open positions

Postdoctoral researchers

We are seeking a postdoctoral research associate to work on a collaborative project on the systems biology of nitrogen cycling and storage in poplar. The project, which is funded by NSF's Plant Genome Program, aims to quantify gene expression, metabolic flux and protein phosphorylation in shoots of wild-type and genetically modified poplar, integrate the multiscale data from these approaches and then use reverse genetics to identify gene function. This project is a collaboration with Dr. Gary Coleman (Plant Science and Landscape Architecture [PSLA], University of Maryland), Dr. Jianhua Zhu (PSLA) and Dr. George Ude (Bowie State University).

Applicants with computational and/or experimental skills in the areas of metabolic and gene regulatory network analysis are especially encouraged to apply. Salaries will be competitive and benefits are included. Please see the job posting here and send your application to Dr. Coleman as indicated in the posting. If you have questions about the position please [mailto: gsriram@umd.edu contact Dr. Sriram].

Graduate researchers

We are seeking 1-2 graduate students to work on metabolic and gene regulatory pathway analysis. To be a graduate student in the Sriram Lab, you must be admitted to a graduate (Ph.D. or M.S.) program in chemical engineering or a related area at University of Maryland. If you are already admitted and would like to discuss open projects, please email Dr. Sriram for an appointment. If you are seeking admission and would like assistance or information about future projects, please [mailto: gsriram@umd.edu contact Dr. Sriram].
