Amy's PhD research (2007 onwards) focuses on the contribution that ROPs, ROP GEFs, and ROP GDI1 make to root hair growth. Amy is particularly interested in how differences between the movement of active and inactive ROPs in developing root hair cells might affect the location of root hair growth sites.
