About us

Our lab studies the role of early growth response (Egr) genes, a family of transcriptional regulators that are important for nervous system development and adult nervous system function. As potential regulators of growth factor signaling, Egr proteins have an important role in cellular growth and differentiation, and they may behave as oncogenes in a variety of solid tumors. In the adult nervous system, Egr gene expression is regulated by synaptic activity and Egr proteins are important to regulate gene expression related to learning and memory processing.
