The role of the gut microbiome in drug metabolism and nutrition

We are always looking for talented post-doctoral fellows interested in working in an interdisciplinary research group that is developing and applying new metagenomic methods for analyzing the community structure, gene content, and transcriptional activity of the human gut microbiome. A major focus is on understanding how the microbiota and microbiome participate in the metabolism of various xenobiotics, including orally ingested drugs, and the impact of these activities on health, disease risk and therapeutic efficacy.
