Welcome! I am a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Marvin Whiteley at the University of Texas at Austin in the Section of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. My research in the Whiteley lab centers largely around the use of high-throughput sequencing-based methods to probe the genomes of pathogenic bacteria. Through these methods, I hope to advance the understanding of the global gene networks that pathogens use to cause disease, as well as advance knowledge about global gene networks more generally. Finally, I've always loved developing new experimental techniques and systems, and hope to contribute to diverse fields of study by developing new ways to look at interesting problems. My ultimate career goal is to obtain a tenure-track faculty position at a research and graduate education institution, so that I can continue to work in these directions for many years to come and help train the next generation of scientists.
