Objective

• To make a HAuCl4 stock solution

Bench Work

• weighted out solid HAuCl4 (MW 339.79 g)

--> 0.1148 on scale, 0.0008 after placing in 15 mL falcon tube. therefore mass is 0.114 g hAuCl4 dissolved in 10 mL of water.
--> actual stock concentration = 0.0336 M HauCl4

• theoretical concentration was 0.01 M based on 0.034 g in 5 mL of water
