I work in the Your Lab at XYZ University. I learned about OpenWetWare from My postdoc lab (Maureen Hoatlin's lab in Portland, OR) had an OWW page, too., and I've joined because Just started my own lab in Jan 2009, we'd like to use OWW to create our own fun lab homepage for introducing ourselves + our research, sharing protocols, scheduling lab meetings, etc...
