Objective

Filter the hydrogels out of safflower oil to be used in further experiments

Procedure

1) As much safflower oil as possible was first poured out from each sample.

2) Hexane was then added to each sample to remove any excess safflower oil.

3) The hexane/hydrogel solution was filter via vacuum filtration and each filtrant was left to air dry
