I work in the Vision Genetics Laboratory at Loyola Marymount University. I learned about OpenWetWare from Dr. Kam Dahlquist, and I've joined because I am currently enrolled in a Bioinformatics course in which we will be utilizing and contributing to this site.

Education

  • 2008, BS in Biology, Loyola Marymount University
    • Upper division coursework:
      • Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology Applications, Microbiology with lab, Endocrinology, Invertebrate Zoology, Field Botany, Genetically Modified Crops, Comparative Animal Physiology, Plant Development, Principles of Evolution
      • Biochemistry

Interests

Career

  1. Disease and Immunological Research
  2. Genetic and Molecular Research
  3. GMO Research with agricultural applications

Biology

  • I really appreciate the interdisciplinary aspect of Biology, especially the cellular and molecular aspects. Its focus on the finer workings of living organisms is more tangible to me and makes what I see in the natural world regularly far more amazing and interesting.

Additional Information

  • At this time I do not have any concerns about the course and look forward to gaining a better foundation in Bioinformatics.
