Sample Preparation

All sample preparation was completed as follows:

Results

The above chart shows the UV-Vis spectra of the series of pH for 0.75 mM Fructose with 0.25 mM Ag. pH 4, 5, 11, and 12 were the only solutions to form nanoparticles. The rest formed a solid precipitate that was sometimes suspended but mostly on the bottom of the glass tubes. pH 12 was particularly interesting because of the formation of a peak around 450 nm. This peak is very broad, which is in line with the suspension of solid particles in the solution--resolution should be low. pH 11 appears to have the "precursors" to "peaks" but these are not well resolved.

The above chart shows the UV-Vis spectra of the series of pH for 1.25 mM Fructose with 0.25 mM Ag. pH 4, 11, and 12 were the only solutions to form nanoparticles. pH 11 and 12 both formed peaks and will be compared to the other concentrations of fructose in further analysis. These peaks were closer to around 420 nm.

The above chart shows the A(530) of the series of pH for 0.75 mM Fructose with 0.25 mM Ag. Again, pH 4, 5, 11, and 12 were the only solutions to form nanoparticle; which is visible in the chart.
