This chart shows the maximum absorbance over time. The maximum absorbance barely increases throughout the entire run, suggesting that nanoparticles do not form at pH 11 (or form negligible amounts). This is in line with formation patterns that we saw in UV-Vis.

This chart shows the maximum wavelength over time. Because few nanoparticles were formed, the chart is fairly random.
[[Image:OOptics pH11 amfaustino maxa535.15annelieseomg.PNG]]
This chart shows the A(513.15) over time for pH 11 gold nanoparticles. This chart shows a general increase over time, but when we look at the scale, we can see that this increase is negligible. This is because no or few gold nanoparticles were formed.

Sample Preparation

The Ocean Optics sample was prepared as follows:

BSA Ocean Optics

  1. pH 11
  2. [Au]=0.25 mM
  3. [BSA]=3.125 uM
  4. Vf=3000 uL

Stock Concentrations 161108

  1. [BSA]= 30.4 uM
  2. [Au]= 3.37 mM
  3. [NaOH]= 1 M

Volumes for making the solution:

  1. 308.38 uL BSA
  2. 225.55 uL Au
  3. 2466.06 uL HOH
  4. 3.00 uL NaOH

Data Analysis

This chart shows the maximum absorbance over time. The maximum absorbance barely increases throughout the entire run, suggesting that nanoparticles do not form at pH 11 (or form negligible amounts). This is in line with formation patterns that we saw in UV-Vis.

This chart shows the maximum wavelength over time. Because few nanoparticles were formed, the chart is fairly random.

This chart shows the A(513.15) over time for pH 11 gold nanoparticles. This chart shows a general increase over time, but when we look at the scale, we can see that this increase is negligible. This is because no or few gold nanoparticles were formed.
