Objective

To run atomic absorption (AA) on our lysozyme and myoglobin and hemoglobin samples.

Procedure

Creating the Gold Stock Solution

  1. Add 0.0506 g of HAuCl4·3H2O to a 50 mL volumetric flask and fill with distilled water.
  2. The final concentration of gold stock was 2.57 mM.

Solutions with the following Au:protein ratio were run on the AA:
