I learned about OpenWetWare from Dr. Kam D. Dahlquist, Ph.D., and I've joined because I'm required to use it for my BIOL398-01/S11 that is taught by both Dr. Kam D. Dahlquist, Ph.D. and Dr. Ben G. Fitzpatrick, Ph.D..

About Me

I'm currently a third year student at Loyola Marymount University. My plans after graduating from LMU, is to pursue a higher education. I'm not sure what type of program I want to be a part of but I know my next step after LMU is grad school maybe a Masters program in math and maybe ultimately a doctorate. When it comes to career choices eventually I want to teach math preferably at the middle school or high school level, but before that I want to do something out in the industry. Take my math degree and apply it in such a way that I can help my community so that at the end of the day I am able to make a positive change to the world we live in. My favorite aspect of biology is its ability to find explanations to phenomenons as well as the everyday things. Being able to know why it is life has evolved the way it has or how one thing can be connected to another makes biology so interesting to me. My favorite aspect of math is how it is such a universal topic. It will not let you down because no matter where you are math is the same, you can rely on that. It is its own language and understanding it allows you to open so many doors. It is everywhere and it is part of everyday life whether we acknowledge it or not, it is there.

Aside from math, I'm also involved with different clubs and organizations. I am part of the Academic Community of Excellence, ACE. I am the current secretary for Moviento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, MEChA de LMU, and a member of RESILIENCE.
