Have you taken or are you taking...

20.320 (Cell Kinetics): currently taking
7.05/5.07 (Biochemistry): taken last semester
7.06 (Cell Biology): no
5.310 (General Chemistry Lab): no

Do you have any experience culturing cells (mammalian, yeast or microbial)?: no

Do you have any experience in molecular biology (electrophoresis, PCR, etc)?: no

Please briefly describe any previous laboratory experience

Last year, I had a UROP in the Ribbeck lab at MIT, the Lab for Hydrogel Filters in Biology. I studied the properties of and cellular interactions with mucin coatings, and found that cells will not adsorb to surfaces coated with mucin. This property of mucin is often taken into account in areas of research such as drug development.
