‘’’Observations:’’’ This experiment is controlled under optimal conditions suitable for normal bacteria. Because of this, the likelihood of archaea present in the samples is unlikely, due to the extreme conditions in which they thrive. Additional grow from the current bacteria has as smell of rotten food. Continued growth and bacteria proliferation continued due to to environmental changes and ample amounts of nutrients. This continued growth is anticipated until either the environments does not suit the organisms’ fitness or nutrient depletion. The agar plats which had tetracycline fewer colonies, but larger colonies by observation. Under observation, the antibiotic plates had large presence of orange growth in the colonies. This indicates that bacteria, in the presence of antibiotics, are not as prevalent, and therefore temporarily affected by the antibiotics. The overall effect present with tetracycline hinders bacterial growth, but has limited affect on fungi growth. From observation, the orange bacteria present in the agars has either produced a resistance to the antibiotic or is not a bacteria.

Without these proteins the bacteria cannot grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Tetracycline therefore stops the spread of the infection and the remaining bacteria are killed by the immune system or eventually die.” Because of this, tetracycline treats bacteria infections of the urinary tract, Syphillis, Gonorrhoea, and other types of bacterial conditions.

‘’’Intent:’’’ The intent of this experiment was to understand the characteristics of bacteria to observe antibiotic resistance, and to properly identify DNA sequences presence from the PCR in later processing.

‘’’Overview:’’’ During this lab, the serial dilution results were observed. Two agar plates where chosen from both the nutrient positive and tetracycline plates, and extracted utilizing sterilized tools to conduct a Gram Stain Procedure. Additionally, each of the four agar plates that where observed also had content extracted to three 16s DNA sequencing tubes for the process of performing a PCR.

“Tetracycline works by interfering with the ability of bacteria to produce proteins that are essential to them.
