Daniel M Jordan (an artistic interpretation)

I am a second-year PhD student in Biophysics at Harvard. My interests are in computational biology & genomics, structural biology, and systems biology, all with a particular focus on evolution. My first rotation was in Shamil Sunyaev's lab, where I worked on extending PolyPhen-2 to make its predictions clinically useful to physicians and genetic counselors. We focused on Cardiomyopathy as our model disease. I am currently in my second rotation, in the labs of Gerhard Wagner and Ellis Reinherz. I am conducting a high-throughput screen of folding conditions for the extracellular domains of CD45, in the hope of being able to get a structure.

Education

  • 2006, BA Physics & Philosophy, Yale University

Research interests

Since I have not joined a lab yet, my research interests are a little unfocused. A quick list would include:

  1. Modeling evolution
  2. Genomics
  3. Systems biology
  4. Structural biology
  5. Molecular genetics
