Objective

Learn how to maintain an OpenWetWare Notebook.

Description

  1. A column chromatography was run using the ruthenium complex dissolved in acetonitrile.
  2. After trying an acetonitrile+sodium nitrate+ethyl acetate eluent and not succeeding in moving the analyte, a polar solution of 90% acetonitrile+sodium nitrate solution was used. The concentration of acetonitrile gradually decreased by a factor of roughly 10%. When the concentration became 50%, sodium nitrate was added to the water. Eventually, 100% Water+sodium nitrate was used as the eluent.
  3. The fractions from the column were collected and rotovaporized.
