Obtained fresh DI water (16.6 MΩ) for use in all solutions

#1 L 20 ppm SO<sub>4</sub><sup>2-</sup> as CuSO<sub>4</sub>
#*Rinsed flask with conc. HCl (20 mL for 10 min, swirling & tilting)
#*<font color="green">(Note: Chromic acid cleans glass best, but toxicity limits use) </font>
#*Rinsed copiously with DI water
#*Dried in oven 90 min at 110°C
#*Used CuSO<sub>4</sub>·5H<sub>2</sub>O as received
#*Cooled flask 20 min to room temperature
#*0.05217 g CuSO<sub>4</sub>·5H<sub>2</sub>O (20.06 ppm SO<sub>4</sub><sup>2-</sup>, 13.24 ppm Cu<sup>2+</sup>)

Solutions for use with IC and/or AA

Obtained fresh DI water (16.6 MΩ) for use in all solutions

  1. 1 L 20 ppm SO42- as CuSO4
    • Rinsed flask with conc. HCl (20 mL for 10 min, swirling & tilting)
    • (Note: Chromic acid cleans glass best, but toxicity limits use)
    • Rinsed copiously with DI water
    • Dried in oven 90 min at 110°C
    • Used CuSO4·5H2O as received
    • Cooled flask 20 min to room temperature
    • 0.05217 g CuSO4·5H2O (20.06 ppm SO42-, 13.24 ppm Cu2+)
