Description of experiments // Details // Protocols // Log
- Reading articles to get a sense of the type of pectin has been used;
- Realized that a couple of ideas to be tested have been published already - in particular oxidation, RGD coupling, gelation; :-(
Notes
Currently the lab have two types of pectin:
- Polygalacturonic acid (25 g / Sigma#P3889)
- Pectin, from citrus peel (100 g / Sigma#P9135)
- Justin reported some problems in getting these polymers to gel
Questions/Next Steps
- the current goal is figuring out a suitable formulation to start to try different gelations and chemistries
