Research interests

I am interested in using current sequencing technologies to examine biological questions in plant species. Currently, I am working on the following projects in the Dilkes lab as well as with collaborators across the country.

  • Epigenetic control of maize seed development.
  • Gene identification using high throughput sequencing in an EMS Variation Inbred Line (EVIL) in Sorghum.
  • Natural variation at SYMPATHY FOR THE LIGULE (SOL) controls penetrance of the semidominant Liguless-narrow* mutation in Zea maize.
  • Identification by high throughput sequencing of Dhurrinase2 which affects cyanogenic glucoside dhurrin accumulation in Sorghum.
