* FTIR was used to determine if the isopropanol and butyne-1-ol attached to the PVOH in the hydrogels. FTIR spectra could not successfully be taken because the hydrogels were too thick and inflexible. A spectra was taken of a film just containing PVOH to ensure that the problem was not with the instrument. | |||
