Research topics

1. My initial objective is to understand how metal oxide nanoparticles are a component of low-dose particulate matter (PM2.5) exposure.

2. Aluminium-induced neurotoxicity and chronic neuroinflammation in the microglia are evidences of the translocation of inhaled PM2.5 particulate matter to the brain.

Toxicity of metal oxide nanoparticles exposure

  • The nanotoxicity of ultrafine particulate matter (PM2.5) in aerosolized nanoparticles is under investigation.

  • The chemical clumping behavior of aerosolized nanoparticles require a sophisticated mechanical delivery system.
  • The purpose of spraying water vapor is invalid.
  • The synthetic nature of aerosolized nanoparticles require further research.

Characterization of the Gulf War syndrome

The pathology of the Gulf War syndrome (GWS) is not well characterized: The immunotoxicity and nanotoxicity of metal oxides nanoparticles require further research to validate the role of nanomaterials exposure in the pathology of GWS.

Epidemiological evidences of PM2.5 damage to immune system:

  • Alteration of cytokines production

Differential effects of aerosolized nanoparticles on the immune system and microglial cells

  • I aim to discover the physiological functions of aerosolized nanoparticles. In summary, I'm interested to learn how metal oxide nanoparticles induces pulmonary diseases (COPD), oxidative stress, and regulation of NADPH activity.
  • The differential effects of metal oxide nanoparticles on chronic neuroinflammation and microglial activation (reactive microgliosis) require further research.
