Preferred "Extra" OH Time
Sundays (all); Tuesdays are not the best for me, as that is a night of soccer games (and sometimes we are traveling), but 9 pm and after would probably work [I know that's late though]; I know I'm not in the T/R section, but Mondays after 7:30 pm would also work
Potentially Relevant Background
Have you taken/are you taking... | Answer yes/no/when |
7.05/5.07 (Biochemistry) | Yes (last spring) |
7.06 (Cell Biology) | Not yet (this spring) |
7.03 (Genetics) | Currently taking |
5.310 (General Chemistry Lab) | Not yet |
BioSafety Training | No |
Do you have experience with... | Answer yes/no/type |
Cell culture (microbial/mammalian/yeast?) | No |
Molecular biology (electrophoresis, PCR, etc) | Extremely limited - my dad works in a fungal genetics lab at N.C. State and showed me a few things over the course of a few days when I was in high school |
Please briefly describe any previous laboratory experience
I have very little experience working in a biology/biological engineering lab. As mentioned above, I have been exposed to a few techniques briefly by going into my dad's lab for a few days.
This past summer I did some behavioral research in the Early Childhood Cognition Lab (Laura Schulz). I worked in the Boston Children's Museum running an experiment analyzing cause/effect reasoning in 1 year olds.
Not really! I guess I would appreciate patience as I try to get acclimated to working in a lab :)
What is your favorite food or song or song about food?
- Sweet potato casserole (when it's close to Thanksgiving)
- Froyo (with lots of chocolate/chocolate toppings!)
