Welcome to my OWW user page. I'm a first-year grad student at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, VA and I am a member of Dr. Stephen Fong's Systems Bioengineering Lab in the Department of Chemical and Life Science Engineering. Please feel free to email me.
Research Interests
I am working towards a biofuel production process using biological, chemical and physical engineering principles.
Microbial Engineering
Specifically, I am interested in combining an evolutionary engineering strategy with a synthetic biology approach to the metabolic engineering of microorganisms for the synthesis of butanol for use as transportation fuel.
Marine Metagenomics
I am interested in harvesting genetic material from the vast microbial biodiversity found in the oceans for biotechnological applications.
