Melaminometer Model

Reaction Equations

Balanced equations:

Melamine:

C3H6N6 + H2O --(melamine deaminase)--> C3H5N5O (ammeline) + NH3

Ammeline:

C3H5N5O + H2O --(ammeline aminohydrolase)--> C3H4N4O2 (ammelide) + NH3

Ammelide:

C3H4N4O2 + H2O --(ammelide aminohydrolase)--> C3H3N3O3 (cyanurate) + NH3

Cyanuric acid:

C3H3N3O3 + H2O --(cyanurate amidohydrolase)--> C2H5N3O2 (biuret) + CO2

Biuret:

C2H5N3O2 + H2O --(biuret hydrolase)--> C2H4N2O3 (urea-1-carboxylate) + NH3

Urea-1-carboxylate:

C2H4N2O3 + H2O --(allophanate hydrolase) --> 2NH3 + 2CO2
