Picking colonies

Nine isolated colonies were streaked onto the plates made 27 April 2013. They were placed into the 37ºC incubator.

Observations

The "kinds" of colonies did not separate out so readily. However, it was noticed that some were umbonate and others flat--irregular edges on all but two. It was not terribly feasible to check for morphology on a stain given that the staining supplies were somewhere less than easily discerned.

Next Week

I will check for growth Monday, as previously at least some growth was visible by then. If it appears that at least a certain quantity are growing, I will prepare for PCR, digest and gel-running (buying primers, etc) on 11 May 2013.
