OBJECTIVES

  • Prepare more microsphere samples expanding upon new previous method developed (new modifications)

PVOH 130K Prepared Microsphere Samples & Dye Preparations 2

1μM Rhodamine 6G Dye Concentration (90:10)

  M1V1 = M2V2
  1μM (RG6)x 10mL = (92μM)V2    V2 = 109μL

1μM Rhodamine 6G Dye Concentration (50:50)

Notes

  • Originally, samples were being prepared on a 0.1 gram scale; however, since then samples were divided into 1/4. New modifications include:
  # 50:50 clay vs. PVOH samples, the max amount being used is 0.025 grams for each substance
  # 90:10 clay vs. PVOH samples, the max amount being used is 0.01 grams clay and 0.04 grams PVOH
  • Based upon new sample modifications using 1/4 the original ratio, microsphere samples have began to form actual smaller microspheres rather than microgels or connected large clumps of spheres
