About
My name is Kay Aull (aka Katherine Aull). I am a PhD student at UCSF, in the Bioinformatics program. My research interests focus on methods development for systems and synthetic biology.
For my thesis project, I am working with Prof. Leor Weinberger on the mechanisms and adaptive significance of the HIV latent reservoir.
I graduated from MIT in 2008, with the first undergraduate class in Biological Engineering. Since then, I worked as a synthetic biologist at the startup Codon Devices, and as a technician in the Fisher Lab at MGH, a melanoma research group. I am also involved with the DIYbio community.
