Lucas completed his MEng degree in Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London in 2009. His final year thesis focused on developing wireless sensors for monitoring chronic low back pain under the supervision of Dr. Fernando Bello and Dr. Aakanksha Chhikara. During his 3rd year group project he also worked with Dr. Patrick Degenaar to implement a real time image processing algorithm on an FPGA to compare and contrast its performance relative to a mobile phone implementation (Nokia N95). For his PhD, Lucas joined the [http://www.bicv.org BICV group] at the Department of Bioengineering in Imperial College under the supervision of Dr Anil A. Bharath. His research focuses on computer vision with endoscopy and aims to develop a framework for the detection and classification of colorectal polyps.
