Procedures

Solution Prep

  • Au stock solution:
    • 0.011g x (1 mol/393.833g) x 0.010L = 2.793mM
  • Myoglobin stock solution:
    • 0.011g x (1 mol/17699g) x 0.010L = 0.0621mM

Nanofiber Synthesis

Protein Ratio Final [Au] Vol Au Vol Protein Vol Water
Myoglobin 100:1 0.5 mM 0.895 mL 0.403 mL 3.702 mL
0.25 mM 0.448 mL 0.201 mL 4.351 mL
  • Measure solutions into 10 mL glass test tubes
    • 8 solutions total
  • Stack 4 of the same type of scaffold into each tube
  • Heat at 80C for 4 hours
