[[MHC class II molecules]]
I have just completed my undergraduate research project, which was initiated on the July of 2005 and it aimed at revealing possible modulation of freshly isolated spleen cells by soluble MHC class II molecules. During this research project I tried to isolate soluble MHC class II molecules, from the serum of normal and pregnant Balb/c mice. Our efforts yielded protein solutions that had anti-I-Ad activity, in ELISA and Western blot assays. SDS-PAGE revealed almost always two bands, from which the most prominent was the one that appeared at 67kDa. This band had high anti-I-Ad activity in Western blot assays.

When these protein solutions were applied to freshly isolated polyclonal spleen cells, a significant increase in their activation status was recorded. [IN CONSTRUCTION]
