Dialysis of .125 g/L Lysozyme Against CaCl2

A dialysis experiment was prepared using 3500 MWCO Dialysis Tubing. Samples of .125 g/L were placed in the wells of one side of the dialysis chamber. These samples were dialyzed against solutions of CaCl2 of the following concentrations:

  • 50 mM CaCl2
  • 5 mM CaCl2
  • 0.5 mM CaCl2
  • 0.05 mM CaCl2
  • 0.005 mMCaCl2

The dialysis chamber was sealed and placed on an orbital shaker at room temperature for 24 hours.

Analysis to be done later

Beginning tomorrow - after the dialysis of Lysozyme against CaCl2 - the following types of analysis will be done on the samples removed from the dialysis chamber.

  • UV-Vis Bradford Analysis
  • Ca2+ ISE
  • UV-Vis without Bradford
  • Fluorescence for all protein solutions

Data

Since today's experiment takes 24 hours before data can be collected, data for this experiment can be found on the notebook pages of the days that they were done. Links to those pages can be found below.
