ObjectiveDMA- Dynamic Mechanical Analysis on PVOH films DescriptionFollowing PVOH Films were Cross-linked:
DMA Analysis: PVOH films were subject to stretch( elastic tension ) mechanical analysis to test its mechanical durability.
Data
The films that were cross-linked in the oven had some considerable changes in color and toughness: *PVOH MW 100,000- film was firmer and there was no apparent color change. *PVOH MW 22000- no apparent color and physical change that was observed. *PVOH MW 22000 cross linked with H3PO4- film became much tougher and turned a slight yellowish brown color. *PVOH MW 22000 with H3PO4 and maleic acid- no apparent color and physical change that was observed. *PVOH MW 100,000 cross-linked w/ hydrochloric acid- slightly firm, but color change was very prominent- dark, jet blackish.
