1. 250ml 0.1 M NaHCO3/Na2CO3 buffer solutions of pH 10, 11, & 12 were prepared by adding solid NaHCO3 to approximately 150ml of water. pH was measured and NaOH was added gradually while measuring pH until reading to desired value.

2.solutions of 1:1:8 volumetric ratio of Au:AA:buffer  were prepared using buffer instead of water for all three AA from their stock concentration (2.5µM- phenylalanine, arginine, isoleucine).
 
3.  10 mM HAuCl4 solution and a 100 mM arginine solution were prepared.
AuNP solutions were prepared using 10:1, 1:1, & 1:10 Au:AA:buffer concentration ratio (1:0.01:8.99, 1:0.1:8.9, 1:1:8 volumetric ratios)for each pH (10,11,12).
The 18 AuNP solutions were left for overnight heating.
 
4.  Buffer for Bradford Analysis was prepared using 1L 50mM Tris 50mM NaCl pH 7.5
 
5. Buffer for Dialysis was prepared  using 100 mL Glycine Buffer with pH = 3.5

6.  Buffer for SDS-PAGE was prepared by using 3.75mL 0.5M Tris pH 6.8 ---> 6.1042 g Tris in 100mL water ---> 0.504M Tris
15.0mL of 50% glycerol ---> 7.5mL glycerol + 7.5mL water
0.3ml of 1% Bromphenol Blue ---> 0.009g Bromphenol Blue in 1mL water
6.0mL 10% Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) ---> 1g SDS in 10mL water
H2O to make 30mL total
