Research: I am interested in the roles of RNA-binding proteins during development. My current research focuses on posttranscriptional gene regulation during the development of the mammalian nervous system. Specifically, I am studying several uncharacterized RNA-binding proteins that exhibit specific expression patterns within the developing mouse brain. I am attempting to uncover the functions of these proteins and to identify their RNA targets within the developing nervous system.
Background: Ph.D. in Biology at McGill University. My thesis research, under the supervision of Paul Lasko, investigated translational regulation during Drosophila germline development.
